Highway Vignette — Switzerland

Switzerland requires a vignette for all national motorways. Unlike most European countries, only an annual vignette is available — there are no short-term options. Since August 2023, a digital vignette is available alongside the traditional physical sticker.

Where to Buy

The Swiss vignette can be purchased online as a digital vignette at via.admin.ch, at petrol stations, post offices, and at all major border crossings when entering Switzerland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Switzerland has chosen to offer only an annual vignette to keep administration simple. At CHF 40 (~€42) it is one of the cheapest annual vignettes in Europe, which partly compensates for the lack of short-term options.
